In the forest world of Coswyk, the seasons were changing. Unlike in the mortal world of Dor, seasons in Coswyk could last for several human lifetimes before slowly changing. When Oberon and his people first came to Coswyk, it was summer. Oberon made sure the land was full of green trees and gentle breezes. Over many years and the terrible wars with the Elves that followed, Oberon became distracted. There were more important things to deal with. As Oberon focused more on the war with the hated Elves, the land cooled. First into a hundred year long autumn. Then slowly over decades, a dread cold began to grip the land. Soft ground turned icy, the trees became wrapped in fingers of frost. And then slowly, over tens of human years, Frost turned to snow. It drifted down from the sky, blanketing the trees, branches, and very ground. For the first time ever the young Fae experienced bitter cold.
